November 13 shop drop

Restock on Hogwarts-letter notebook and Dragonquest notebook (I realized that I have Dragonquest and Dragonflight backwards but I’m going to leave the titles that way for consistency).

I made a couple little aqua dragons with glitter underwings, then ran across a foiled snowflake minky that is coincidentally the same color, so I have an unintentional theme going this week.

Lastly, if you have Etsy notifications turned on you may have noticed I snuck a test dragon in between shop drops: the little red ramhorn dragon.

November 6 Shop Drop

It’s a midweek shop drop! Expect more of these as we head into the holiday season.

Two new dragon colorways: Silver Apricot is the first gray/silver dragon I’ve done, with a gray-swirled calico with orange ginkgo leaves. Forest is a hunter green dragon with a matching leaf print.

I’m also running a few new snap trays with felt lining (to get a richer black). The kittens are backed with lavender vinyl (and I’m waiting for today’s snap shipment so I can put matching snaps on them), the wolves with black.

Look for these to start hitting the shop this evening.

October 26 shop drop?

I’m still playing catch-up after a week out of town, but hopefully I’ll wrap these dragons up in time to get them into the shop sometime tomorrow. Photography and Etsy-editing means it certainly won’t be the usual 10am though.

There will be two of the French-blue dragons with gold dots (one with gold eyes, one with aurora eyes), and just one each of the whale and Ravenclaw dragons (both with aurora eyes). There will be also be a special guest (besides my “helper” cat), previewing a new color of minky: mandarin orange. That’s right: behold the Gritty dragon:

This is not a new eye style you’ll be seeing in other future dragons, I promise.

October 5 Shop Drop

It’s been a week of fighting with new patterns with not much to show for it yet, but there are a few new items popping into the Etsy shop tomorrow morning (perhaps earlier than usual; sorry, West Coast people).

First off, a special little dragon – halfway between the plushes and the art-doll dragons. The lace wings are made entirely on an embroidery machine. I can’t claim credit for them; I swiped them from a purchased bat design. I like the effect well enough I’ll be experimenting with making my own, though. The body fabric on that one is a glitter fabric I picked up in a moment of weakness, and aside from the glitter it’s been wonderful to work with and I’m really pleased with how that one turned out. Unfortunately, Etsy doesn’t support moving images because the sparkle really shows up better that way:

I’ve also gotten a few more marine-vinyl things done though, again, trying not to overwhelm the shop with those. A raven notebook cover, a dragon-skull dice tray, and some Hogwarts crests in house colors round out the week.

These are already in the shop; I think I missed sending out an update about them. They were a spur-of-the-moment design, and I’ve since gotten a new shipment of eye cabochons that will find their way into that listing whenever I get a free moment to stitch one up. (Don’t mind the littler ones, those are for Temeraire. ㊙)

New colors/styles of dragons

Tomorrow (September 27) at around 10am EST, I’ll have a shop update. Although the art-doll version of the black-with-starry-wings dragon isn’t ready yet, the beanie and standing-plush versions are. I also have the first couple holographic-scales beanies ready to go, in sea green scales and sparkly-mint fleece with silver eyes.

While looking for interesting belly fabrics, I came across an oilslick rainbow fleece (a printed patterns, not color-shifting fleece) and made a couple of standing plush, er, fleece, dragons entirely from it. This fabric will probably make an appearance in combination with minky as well, but that will be in a future update.

The solid-minky standing plush dragons haven’t been forgotten, and a couple of kelly green will go (here with aurora borealis eyes – despite the way the light caught it, that’s not a blue eye with black pupil but a “backlit” glass bead)

Somehow I missed that I hadn’t ever listed Hold My Beer, so a couple of those notebook covers will go up. And I listed Valkyrie, Thor, and Loki but somehow never The Morrigan, so she’ll join them.

I’ve also caught up on trimming all my snap tabs and whatnot. Most of these are destined for gift-with-purchase (shh! those are entirely unofficial and secret) but I might give them their own listings at some point.
